Thursday, May 5, 6:00pm-8:00pm – Mayor's Proposed Budget Hearing

The format for the listening sessions on the 16th and the 18th will include:

  • Welcome and rules of conduct from our third-party facilitator, Jen Gray O’Conner

  • Opening remarks from each Commissioner, in voting orderVery brief budget 101 by Budget Office Director Kinard

  • 90 minutes of testimony; 2 minutes allowed per participant

  • Closing remarks by each Commissioner

A few budget proposal requests that people have shown interest in via email about safety mitigation are listed below:

Spring BMP requests:

  • PBOT 72nd & Woodstock - $23,316

  • CSD Summer Recovery Efforts - $1,400,000

FY 2022-23 Budget requests:

  • PBOT Community violence Prevention: $250,000 GF one-time, $125,000 Cannabis 1x, $125,000 Cannabis ongoing

  • PBOT Outer Holgate Safety: $350,000 GF 1x and $350,000 Cannabis 1x

FY 2022-23, Other Community Safety Requests:

  • CSD Crisis Response Fund - $1M ARPA to support families after gun violence has occurred

  • CSD Community Safety Pilot Plan & Community Safety Crisis Response Fund - $2M ARPA for social supports to communities to address the root cause of violence

  • OVP Gun Violence Prevention - $5.4M ARPA for community groups to continue street level outreach

  • Parks Community Safety Capacity - $1.76M ARPA for additional Parks Rangers
