The NAACP is a membership-driven organization. Centered on Black leadership and civil rights, the NAACP effects real change in the lives of Black community members through the hard work, inspiration, creativity, skills, and perseverance of its members.
The NAACP's mission is to ensure the political, educational, equality of minority group citizens of States and eliminate race prejudice. The NAACP works to remove all barriers of racial discrimination through democratic processes.
From its very beginning, over 100 years ago, the NAACP has had a commitment to a multi-racial membership, and the Portland branch of the NAACP has carried this legacy forward with Black leadership and vision.

Youth
For individuals 13 years and under.
Junior Life Members receive a special recognition plaque.
*Full Junior Life Membership cost is $100, payable in annual installments of $25 or more.
For individuals aged 14 to 20 years.
Bronze Life Members receive a special recognition plaque.
*Full Bronze Life Membership is $400, payable in annual installments of $50 or more.
Adult
For individuals 21 years and over.
Silver Life Members receive a special recognition plaque.
*A Silver Life Membership is $750, payable in annual installments of $75 or more.
Available to Silver Members paid in full
Gold Life Members receive a special recognition plaque.
*A Gold Life Membership is $1500, payable in annual installments of $150 or more.
Available to Gold Members paid in full
Diamond Life Members receive a special recognition plaque.
*A Diamond Life Membership is $2500, payable in annual installments of $250 or more.
